The West Hants Club is one of the finest sports clubs on the South Coast. With a sporting history dating back to the 1920’s, it has a reputation for being one of the best equipped and run clubs.
Set in a 9 acre site just outside of the ever-growing centre of Bournemouth, the West Hants club boasts internationally renowned clay tennis courts, an indoor tennis centre, gymnasium, fitness studios, sauna, steam room and a swimming pool. The club runs a whole range of classes, and with over 50 a week there is something to attract almost anyone interested in sport and fitness.
Following an extensive £5 million rebuild and refit in 1999, the club became an even more prestigious and luxurious facility. As it did so, so did the number of active members and visitors. The security and safety of these visitors, along with the staff and tutors, was one of the main priorities for the club. Arkon were asked to help develop an extensive security solution for the whole site.
The major issues with keeping the facility safe and secure are the volumes of people visiting at various times, and the size of the facility and grounds. It was absolutely essential that all patrons and staff could be located and watched over in case of an emergency or crime. It was necessary to have extensive security coverage 24 hours a day, to ensure the club would be a safe place to enjoy and work in.
Arkon introduced state-of-the-art security systems including CCTV and access control, to cover the entire site. These systems enabled them to constantly monitor the club and those using it. These sophisticated systems meant that an alarm could be raised in seconds, should anything unfortunate happen.
The West Hants club now has one of the most advanced, versatile and comprehensive security systems of any sports club, and can rest assured that Arkon will continue to operate and maintain it for them.
