Opium Security introduced a policy of door staffing, intended to be both visible and friendly. By assessing potential threats or flashpoints in and around the bar, they were able to ensure that trouble could be prevented before it even happened. It was extremely important that customers didn't feel put off by too much security, but could feel safe in the knowledge that only the right people would be allowed access. In the event of an incident occurring inside the bar, the door staff could react and handle the situation effectively but delicately. In addition, Opium Security knows how important it is to record how many customers are in the venue at any one time. From the safety aspect, for example in the case of a fire, it is vital that everyone is evacuated as quickly as possible – and knowing how many people are on the premises facilitates this.
